In terms of theory, we are highlighting the fundamental role of perceptions in conflict dynamics of this type. This hypothesis leads to a psycho-sociological approach which, on its conflict analysis side mobilises the theory of relative deprivation developed by TED GURR (1970) to explain the passage from frustration to violence, and on its conflict resolution, side bases itself on theories of mediation and negotiation developed by the Harvard school [1].
