Une des particularités du conflit du Sahara occidental tient à sa longueur dans le temps. C’est un conflit qui se maintient dans une impasse et qui est encore loin d’être résolu. Ce conflit fait partie de ce qu’on pourrait appeler la catégorie des « conflits gelés ».
